Earth Science Online ESO

Earth Science Online Now!

Earth Science Online (ESO) is the online component of the MTCHS Earth Science Course. Online Labs, Reviews, Quizzes, and Exams will be available for students.

MTCHS Freshman Computing Core

This course includes computing fundamentals which covers, what a computer is; processing data; software; hardware; programming; networking; media communications; and the social and ethical issues surrounding technology. The course is intended to introduce key applications including spreadsheets, databases, media creation software, Internet browsers, and operating system tools like backup and recovery. This course encompasses living online with networks, the Internet, on-line research, and web paqge design. Extensive coverage of ethical, security and privacy issues is discussed. The completion of computing and internet core along with Word and PowerPoint (completed in Freshman School-to-Work) competencies correlates to all of the objectives in the three IC3 exams: Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online.

OOP - Object Oriented Programming

Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) provides an introduction to a compiled programming language. Students will learn how to enter, run, compile and debug programs. Programming style and algorithm development will be emphasized. Students will study the fundamentals of structured programming and be introduced to object oriented programming topics will include strings, arrays, stacks, and queues. Students will be required to pass a “practice” Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) certification exam. Student may also take the class for dual-credit at BSU. Information available in September. Projects in programming will involve students developing a software product through all phases of the development cycle. Project management, legal and ethical issues as well as current trends in programming will be emphasized.

Pre-Engineering

Engineering-Principles is designed to introduce students to the world of engineering.  Students will learn who engineers are, what they do, what types of careers are available, the engineering design process, problem solving skills, microcontroller systems, and computer aided design (CAD).  Students will also use their new knowledge of engineering to complete several projects toward the end of the last quarter.

A&B Technology Tools

Technology Integration and Application!

This course will incorporate various technology elements into integrated projects. Microsoft Office 07 will be utilized and participants will become familiar with many of its programs.

Web Developer

This course introduces students to basic web developer concepts in a business setting. Students will review current HTML standards, utilize industry standards for designing web pages and write basic client-side scripts. Student will also be exposed to basic programming concepts including program analysis, development and maintenance. Students will design and create databases and use queries to retrieve data. Web applications will be developed and web server configuration will be covered.

Networking Experimental Area

This is a course setup for the Networking Class to experiment with.

Welcome to the MTCHS On-Line Course Delivery System! (CDS) The CDS is available to all faculty and students of MTCHS. Faculty can develop on-line coursework for use in or out of class, and/or to supplement classroom learning. Students can access coursework developed using the CDS from any web-browser.
